What is the Root Cause of My Health Issues? There's One Answer!

INSIDE: If you're wondering, "What is the root cause of health issues?" you're not alone. In the end, it all comes down to one overarching cause. Here's the answer!

It's rare, if not impossible, to find someone these days who doesn't have a health issue. Chronic conditions are running rampant, and you have to wonder, doesn't it seem like we are sicker now than ever before? 


The answer is unfortunately, yes.


And the reason has to do with our modern lifestyle. 


Catherine Shanahan, author of Deep Nutrition, puts it way better than I could, so I'll quote her here:


"The body of evidence compiled by thousands of epigenetic researchers working all over the world suggest that the majority of people's medical problems do not come from inherited mutations, as previously thought, but rather from harmful environmental factors that force good genes to behave badly, by switching them on and off at the wrong time. And so, genes that were once healthy can, at any point in our lives, start acting sick."


What is the Root Cause of Health Issues?

There really is just one overarching reason why we end up with unwanted symptoms and conditions, and here it is...


The root cause of every illness out there comes down to the overall stress that is being put on the body. 


What kind of stress are we talking about here? 


Stress can come in the following forms:


  • Emotional stress
  • Toxins
  • Pathogens
  • Heavy metals
  • Injuries
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • And anything else that is using your body's resources


The answer to the question, "what is the root cause of health issues?" is that our bodies are on toxic overload due to our modern lifestyle.


From the foods we eat to the air we breathe, the medications and vaccines we take, and the products we use on our skin, to clean our house, to create our furniture and clothes, and the list goes on, our bodies are being bombarded with toxins, which puts too much stress on the body.

We Are Depleting Our Body Bank Account

I can't take credit for this powerful concept of the body bank account. I learned it from my mentor, Sandie Gascon, author of Heal Yourself and founder of Integrative Healing Academy


But when you understand the body in this way, it shines a whole new light on the way you live your life, and you start to see the real cause of health issues.


Think about the body for a minute.


You have thousands of processes going on in your body right now all at the same time. But it may not all be functioning optimally right now, even though it is programmed to restore itself back to a balanced state on its own. 


Why is that?


We're all born with a reserve, and this is where genetics does play a role. The value of your reserve will depend on the health of your mother and your genetics. That will determine how much of a reserve your body starts out with.


Then, as we go through life, we make withdrawals from our body bank account. 


Withdrawals We Make



Let's look at some of the ways we make withdrawals from our body's reserve:


  • Right after we are born, we are given vaccines, which contain heavy metals and other toxins
  • We might be put on formula as an infant
  • As a toddler, we start eating processed foods and consuming pesticides and GMOs
  • Maybe we have an emotionally stressful childhood
  • As we get older, we take pharmaceuticals for pain and antibiotics when we get sick
  • We start putting products on our skin that contains large amounts of toxins
  • We wear clothes, sit on furniture, and sleep on beds that all contain chemicals


You get the picture.


We are literally dowsing ourselves with toxins from every angle. And all of those things make withdrawals from our body bank account. 


Where Are the Deposits?



The problem with all of this, aside from the fact that we are making too many withdrawals, is that we also aren't making enough deposits. 


Deposits can include:


  • Supplements
  • Herbs
  • Nutritious foods
  • Mindset work
  • Exercise
  • Self-care


The key with making deposits is to not just throw spaghetti at a wall and hope it sticks. In other words, it's not effective to just try every latest supplement and diet that's out there. 


A customized approach is what is going to allow you to heal yourself.


We Are in Debt



Once the body's reserve hits zero, you start to go into debt and the body begins malfunctioning.


Symptoms arise, and the further into debt your body gets, the more symptoms crop up. As more depletion happens, disease becomes inevitable. 


Can you see now why the root cause of health issues comes down to the stress we are putting on the body?


It's Rarely Just One Thing

People often think that the latest thing that happened to them is the culprit for their health issues, but it's usually just the last straw.


It's common to think candida overgrowth is the issue or SIBO, for example. Many people start with gut work and strict diets and wonder why that approach is so difficult and ineffective. 


Gut work is extremely taxing on the body, which only further depletes the body bank reserve. It's best to do gut work toward the end of your healing journey when you already have the support in place to handle it. 


It's important to remember that the body functions as a whole. It didn't take just one thing to get your health where it is today so it's going to take a whole body approach to get you better.

Root Cause Medicine

What can we do about this predicament?


Root cause medicine, or an integrative healing approach is what most people need to heal themselves.


Here's what that looks like...


  1. Reduce the number of withdrawals you are making.
  2. Start making customized deposits by running labs to see what your body needs.
  3. Give your body time to build up its reserves once again.


And that's what I'm here to help you do!


You really can heal yourself. Your body is wise and it just needs you to help it maintain a strong reserve. 

Final Thoughts

When you understand the body bank account concept and the fact that the root cause of health issues comes down to how much stress we are putting on the body, it becomes easier to make healthy choices.


Treat your body like you would your financial bank account. Use root cause medicine to stop making so many withdrawals and be sure to make a whole lot more deposits.
